The Highlands Steam & Vintage Fair would not be a success unless enthusiasts came back to display their pride and joy regularly. 2011 was no exception and the following comments were made by our entrants and visitors about last year’s Fair:
“……..All in all a good fun weekend with good company”
Cowra Antique Vehicle Club,
“……needless to say, the HUGE street parade was impressive”
Adam, Hunter Valley Vintage Farm Machinery Club Inc
“The event was an outstanding success and was extremely well organised…..It was fantastic to see even more exhibitors at this year’s rally and the addition of the timber exhibition added to the vast array of attractions to the event”
Keith Sullivan, Mayor, Oberon Council
“Please accept my congratulations on receiving the Community Event of the Year Award at this years Australia Day celebrations in Oberon….. I understand that the Highlands Steam & Vintage Fair draws a crowd from far and wide…”

“I have just attended the above event at Oberon last weekend and it was GREAT. It started with a trip to Mayfield Garden which was unbelievable and if you ever get the chance to go it is a MUST. There were all types of vehicles on display and events like tractor pulls, wood processing (from a log to a garden shed or cubby house), chain saw scupturing, fire truck demos, food stalls, bands and entertainment. There was truly something for everyone”
Dennis Taylor
“Congratulations to you and Jim and the Club for running such a successful event despite the usual challenges associated with open air events in Oberon. Not only were there a record number of exhibitors, a new fresh feature and added attractions on Sunday but you were rewarded by very good attendance (or so it seemed to me)”
Wayne Cooper
Co-ordinator for Oberon Council
“We too, as a family enjoyed the event, saw the street parade, went to the site on Saturday morning and then the boys and Col went back again on Sunday morning, a great time was had by all. Please pass my thanks onto the committee and all the volunteers”
Leanne Mash

“We had a great time, especially the town parade and the Lucas Mill demo, well done”

“Let me congratulate your club on a personal note for the magnificent rally for 2011……… The tractor rally was a cracker, some lovely country up there, good food, warm people always makes a good show…… Saturday night was a hoot with Pat Drummond. He’s a card, a great novel idea for the 20′s theme and to have local dignitaries support sure gives your event a big lift……. Once again, well done to the Club…..”
